Minister Maynard Witnesses Blast at Quarry

Canada Estate, St. Kitts – On Thursday, February 15, 2024, The Honourable Konris Maynard, Minister of Public Infrastructure, arrived at the Quarry Division of the Public Works Department to witness a hillside blast intended for quarrying the land for the necessary materials used in construction projects nationwide. It was a significant opportunity for the Minister to observe the crucial work of extracting materials needed for national infrastructure development.

Following the explosion, the quarry manager led Minister Maynard on a tour to inspect the equipment for excavating the rocks necessary for infrastructure projects and ascertain how he could improve quarry operations.

During the visit, the Minister and the manager discussed the quarry’s needs and explored potential ways to enhance the efficiency of quarry operations while ensuring that the materials produced are of the highest quality.
