Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 6, 2024) – The St. Kitts Water Services Department (WSD), in collaboration with the Ministry of National Security, wishes to inform the general public about a joint simulation exercise to test responsiveness in the event of a threat of contamination to the water supply.
The Regional Security System (RSS) organized the simulation as part of its training in the Incident Command System (ICS). The simulation aims to evaluate and enhance preparedness to deal with potential public water supply threats. This exercise is solely a simulation, and there is no cause for concern regarding the safety and integrity of the public water supply.
As part of this exercise, the WSD has temporarily interrupted water service in certain parts of Basseterre. The WSD apologizes for any inconvenience caused and assures the public that the service will be restored shortly.
The WSD assures the public that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and quality of our water supply. We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation during this planned exercise and want to emphasize that the safety and quality of our water supply remain our top priority. For further inquiries or information, please contact the St. Kitts Water Services Department by telephone at 467-1005 or visit its website at water.gov.kn.
